Week 2

Rule Breakers
Rules, what are rules? Rules are there to keep us in order and bring peace but there are some rules that bring misfortune and tyranny. But rules also Doesn't just come from the government. There are rules about tradition, how we live our lives.
These are some pictures that show the people in history who broke the rules.

The picture no your right is NELSON MANDELA. He Broke the rule of apartheid. The basic meaning of apartheid is "racial segregation". Nelson Mandela fight against apartied in South Africa. Despite all the challenges that he face. he rose to victory and set his people free from this rule. Which bring equality and fairness to his country.
The picture on your right is called Antigone. In Greek mythology, the story goes that, Antigone's brother had died in  battle for the throne. She wants to buried his brother but the king of Thebes forbids this action. It is punishable by death if she ignore it.  Antigone feels that this is unmoral and unjust and despite the consequences, she does it anyway. Then she was discovered by the kings guard and was punish for her action. After being walled up, she decided to hang herself. Sad isn't it.

The movie High School Musical, has an invisible rule that there is segregation among students. but with some courage from one student the status quote was broken and make school live more friendly and fun.

Foot binding is a tradition in imperial china history during the tang dynasty (10th or 11th century). It's a process, which make Chinese women feet smaller and was perceive by them as highly attractive. Foot binding is a painful process which start as young as 4-7yrs old. Foot binding  began to died out during the 20th century and through anti-foot binding campaign.  Foot binding causes lifelong disabilities and I'm glad that it died out.

Steve Jobs was a great innovator. he broke the rules of  limitation of technology. He design something that is helpful to human kind and that he change the world. The tech that he design would have been  a fantasy in the 20th century but he dare to challenge himself and succeeded.

Japanese culture have change drastically throughout it's history. When japan was isolated from the world, their culture and tradition can be seen clearly and they are very proud of it. when the black ship came and open their doors to the world. There were some who are scare of change that their culture would disappeared. But slowly as time passes and coming to the 20th and 21th century they created their own hybrid culture fusing Asia, Europe and north America cultures. In terms they are breaking free from their tradition.

All and all, to me this are some great rule breakers.

Week 1

First to me creativity has many kind of forms. Some are complex type of creativity. Other's are as simple as making a snack for your yourself. Here there's a picture of a man grilling sausages on top of a camp fire but there's something interesting  about how he cook the sausages. Instead of using a skewer, he uses a leaf rake. This is like killing two birds with one stone. why I said It like that cause 1st it reduces the  amount of skewer you need to buy, that means you save money. 2nd he can grill more sausages at a short of time. But I just hope he uses a clean leaf rake.
Here, there's another simple idea. A man thought of making his work more easier by making this tape holder. He just make the holder itself with some ply wood and attached a hacksaw blade at the edge of it to the cut the tape.  what would you said about his intention of  making it?. Well to me it's always a Hassel to find scissors to cut the tape. Plus sometimes we would misplaced the tapes itself. So to me creativity bring in productivity in terms making our lives much better.

FOODS

Here's are pictures how creativity can be use in foods. In the first picture you can see how strawberries , blueberries, peaches and a pear can make the image of the angry bird. In the 2nd picture you can see some cupcakes that look like chicks. It's kind of interesting and definitely more empathizing to eat it. This will attract people and especially the children.  It's also some kind of a work of art. which you can eat.

FASHION

Creativeness also can be apply in fashion, following what kind of trend this days. it can tell what's the person's character and how they are feeling.

The blue scarf  that you see in picture is just a blue fabric that turn's into something beautiful. If you can say it's a kind of an accessory for your clothes .

SPACES

This is something I like. Creativeness apply in spaces. When you look at spaces you could design in such a way to mirror your personality or your interest. See  the picture on my left, this shows that the interest of the  person is into pirates and sailing and it gives kind of an adventures and fun atmosphere. when you look the picture on the right, the ceiling light has some design around it which look like tree
roots. when the light is turn on. It cast a shadow that look's like trees around the room. This gives a  mysterious kind of atmosphere.

TOYS

Lego is the best way of being creative and every one can play around with it. Basically you can make anything with Lego. It's also a great toy for children cause it can build up their creativeness at a very young age. Lego also can be made into sculptures, cartoon characters, architecture and many more. The creativeness endless.

Creativity will always be a part of us cause It shape how we live, what we see, and how we interact with it .
All and all without creativity the world will  be so dull. There will be no progress and no identity.

Well that's what I think about creativity. How about you ?
